34-year-old Jacob Daniel Forman, accused of killing his wife and two daughters in their Rutland home last December, is now looking to get a new lawyer before his case goes to trial.
The Kelowna man appeared via video conference at his latest court appearance Monday morning. It was at this appearance that the date for a pre-trial conference was supposed to be decided, until Forman's current lawyer, Glenn Verdurmen, revealed that his client was insistent on getting new counsel.
Verdurmen said he didn't feel he should agree to the proposed date of August 9th for the pre-trial conference if he wasn't going to be representing Forman going forward.
The matter was adjourned to next Monday, July 30th, while the date for the pre-trial conference remains up in the air.
Forman remains in custody on two counts of first degree murder and one count of second degree murder. He has not yet entered a plea on any of the charges.
