The flooding along Okanagan Lake isn't stopping organizers from holding the Across the Lake Swim.
Scheduled for July 15th, the 69th annual event attracts close to 12 hundred participants.
Race Director Peter Rudd anticipates the conditions on the lake changing a month from now.
"The conditions at Gyro Beach are a lot worse than at City Park. There is no debris in the water. The lake is warm. Sure, it is a lot deeper but that doesn't pose a problem to swimmers".
The 2.1 kilometer swim is regarded as Canada's largest and longest open swim.
