Another A-list Hollywood star is coming to film in the Okanagan.
Okanagan Film Commissioner Jon Summerland says Casey Affleck will shoot a portion of his film "Light of My Life" in the Osoyoos area.
Affleck recently won Golden Globe and Critics Choice awards for his work in "Manchester By The Sea" for which he's nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor.
Summerland says the profile and potential of the Okanagan as a film hub just keeps growing.
"We have two movies shooting right now, one in Kelowna called "A Tiny House", starting next week - and then this one with Casey Affleck," says Summerland. "We have a studio, a sound stage now being built here, which is big time - probably the biggest news ever - people have their radar on us."
Summerland says Affleck's film "Light of My Life" which he wrote, directs and stars in - begins shooting in the next few weeks.
He says while plot details are being kept under wraps, the independent film is a survival drama that follows a father and daughter who are hiding in the woods while being hunted in a post-pandemic world.
Summerland says the producers liked the fact there's snow in the higher elevations around Osoyoos.
