With temperatures expected to reach the high thirties this week, another Heat Warning has been issued for the Okanagan.
"We've got a ridge of high pressure building back over southern British Columbia," says Environment Canada meteorologist Lisa Erven. "That's going to cause temperatures to slowly creep up over the week."
The high for the week is 39 degrees on Thursday - the hottest temperature recorded so far this summer in Kelowna.
The previous heat record this summer was during the last heat wave in July, with temperatures reaching 37.3 degrees.
Erven says we might get some relief from the extreme heat later on in the week.
"We're going to see an increase in the amount cloud cover throughout the day on Friday," says Erven. "That's going to bring a chance of showers, perhaps even the risk of some thunderstorms as well as a cold front sweeps through the province."
A high of 24 degrees is expected for Saturday, before temperatures heat back up later next week.
