The Kelowna Airport is having another record year. Before the end of December, more than two million passengers will have passed through a facility already deemed too small. Aiport Director Sam Samaddar says August was the highest traffic month in the history of YLW and there's more to come. Charter season is about to start and then there's ski season and Christmas.
Samaddar says expansion plans are finished. They now require all the necessary approvals, including Kelowna City Council. He hopes to have that process complete by the end of 2018. He says the airport needs more terminal space and more apron space to accomodate more planes.
