The Canadian Union of Postal Workers and the post office go to binding arbitration in two days. The long battle for a new contract will soon be over with a union not happy that they were unable to reach a contract settlement through collective bargaining.
Kelowna CUPW President Mathew Aitken says it's business as usual now that they're through the Christmas rush. He says parcel delivery is up about 20 percent and that's mainly due to the on line shopping habits of Central Okanagan residents. He says they're delivering everything imaginable from underwear to marijuana.
Aitken says Canada Post has the most competitive rates for parcel delivery and has the exclusive contract to deliver marijuana products purchased from the BC Government
