Wildfire officials are warning about the coming stretch of hot weather.
Max Birkner at the Kamloops Fire Centre says while flooding is still a big concern in the Okanagan, other areas not affected by floodwaters are drying out quickly.
He says so far this year, 14 fires have burned 18 hectares of land - with 5 fires still burning.
"And all of those fires are still under investigation, but it is suspected there has been some fire use involved. There have been no lightning-caused fires recently in the Kamloops Fire Centre," he says.
Birkner says the fires, they've recently dealt with, were all caused by human carelessness - he says it's extremely important to make sure your campfire is completely out before leaving an area.
He says for now small campfires, a half-metre by half-metre in size, are still allowed in the region.
