West Kelowna RCMP are investigating an attempted child abduction and would like to notify West Kelowna residents of the incident.
On November 27, 2019 at 3:50 p.m. an 11-year-old female was walking along Cougar Road in West Kelowna when she was approached by a lone male driving a vehicle. From the driver’s seat, the male pointed to the backseat encouraging the young girl to get inside the vehicle. The young girl refused and ran home where she remains safe.
The male suspect is described as tanned, possibly bald, approximately mid 40’s in age, heavier build, white bearded chin and was wearing small circular silver glasses. The suspect’s vehicle was a blue 4-door sedan with rusted rims and squeaky brakes. The make and model of the vehicle are not currently known and the vehicle was last seen at Cougar Road and Grizzly Road in West Kelowna.
Police officers from the West Kelowna RCMP frontline and General Investigation Section are investigating the incident, and in the area canvassing for video surveillance.
