It was bad news on the jobless front across Canada in July, but BC and the Okanagan didn't feel the impact like the other provinces did.
"We have the lowest unemployment rate among all the provinces and territories and that's been 24 months in a row", BC Jobs Minister Bruce Ralston told AM 1150 News.
The jobless rate nationally rose from 5.5 per cent in June to 5.7 per cent in July as the economy lost 24-thousand, 200 jobs.
In BC, the jobless rate was 4.4 percent, which was the same rate as Kelowna.
"Not only is the Okanagan a great place to live, but the economy is doing pretty well," Ralston added.
