BC Housing representatives met with tenants living in Kiwanis tower on Wednesday to try and clear up any misinformation they may have received.
Tenants in the building recently lost their rent subsidies with BC Housing after the building was sold to a private company in December.
As a result, some are having to pay almost double for rent.
BC Housing says it came to the building to help tenants understand the potential rent subsidies available to them now, such as the SAFER program.
However, there are some tenants in the building who are an disability and therefore not eligible for that particular subsidy. It's unclear what other options they may have.
