A BC Hydro power pole has been affected by Smith Creek flooding - and customers will lose power for a time today as it's replaced.
Hydro spoksperson Dag Sharman says power will be cut temporarily to about 6,000 customers for 5 to 15 minutes at the beginning of the work and at the end as crews switch lines - but others will lose power for several hours.
"There's another group of customers, 437 down in Gellatly Bay, who will be without power as we replace the pole. So, they'll be without power for the full 4 to 6 hours," he says.
Sharman says crews were on site earlier today, but couldn't begin the work until lightning from another storm in the area subsided.
