Premier Christy Clark released the party's 2017 campaign platform today.
The platform offers limited new spending and rehashes previous Liberal promises to create jobs, control spending, and cut taxes for the middle class.
If elected - new Liberal spending will come in at around $50 million in the first year, rising to $157 million by year three - this on top of the $50-billion budget the government introduced in February.
Clark reiterated the party's plan to cut MSP premiums by 50% - as a first step to eliminating them completely - a freeze on personal income taxes for four years, and a freeze on the revenue-neutral carbon tax until 2021.
The platform also promises to boost investment in the BC Tech sector - and to help seniors with an Active Seniors Tax Credit, a new Respite Tax Credit for those caring for seniors or family members with disabilities, and doubling the Seniors Home Renovation Tax Credit.
The platform also outlined key actions to strengthen forestry, secure new mining investments, and grow BC’s energy sector, including LNG.
The provincial election will be held on May 9th.
