The province is launching what they call a catch up program for measles vaccinations.
They are targeting children from kindergarten to grade 12 who haven't had the shots.
Health Minister Adrian Dix says the program will start right after spring break and run until schools shut down for the summer.
Here's how Dix says it will work in the Interior Health Region, "In school immunization clinics will be offered in all schools. There will be increased public health clinics and a review of immunization records of all school aged children with reminder phone calls and letters to anyone not up to date."
The goal is to get all children not immunized or those who are under-immunized to get their shots. The vaccine is a two shot process. Many children have not had the second dose.
This is a province wide program. It launches right after spring break and will be available until schools close for the summer in June.
The province has spent three million dollars buying an extra supply of the measles vaccine to ensure they have enough to support the program.
