Residents and visitors have recently reported seeing bears in Knox Mountain Park in Kelowna.
The city says it's not unusual to see bears at this time of year, and you're encouraged to stay alert to avoid encounters with them.
Travel in groups when possible, make noise and be sure to keep dogs leashed and on the trails.
Bears can be aggressive, especially when defending food or their cubs.
If you spot a bear that seems to be displaying aggression, notify BC Conservation at 1-877-356-2029.
