It's been a memorable opening day up at Big White, but not necessarily for the right reasons.
After sitting pretty with over 90 cm of snowpack in the middle of this week, Vice President Michael Ballingall says they were hammered with rain last night, which washed away 10-15 cm.
"This was the most confusing 24 hours I think I've ever had in this business, it rained like crazy up here. This might go down in history as one of the ugliest opening days," he said.
"It's one day out of the season, but it happens to fall on our opening day. We went from 18 runs to 4 runs, but Mother Nature will do the right thing, cool down, and it'll start to snow again. We'll prepare them like we did last week."
The resort has taken in a few hundred Americans this weekend, who have headed north to celebrate Thanksgiving.
