The City of Kelowna promises bike-sharing will be back this year - but possibly not until the end of June.
Active Transportation co-ordinator Matt Worona says original provider "Drop Bike" wanted to be the only player in the market - but the city wants to head in a different direction.
"We're trying to move to a system where it's a little more competative, and there's more players trying to deliver service to the residents of Kelowna, and also serving more areas of the city," he says.
Worona says they want to provide a variety of vehicle types - allow users to access several apps - and have services available year round.
City council could get a look at a new bike-share proposal on May 6th.
