An arctic ridge of high pressure is making it freezing cold throughout most of the province.
Environment Canada meteorologist Matt MacDonald says the Central Interior is seeing some of the coldest temperatures in the province.
“We’re only heading for a high of -9 today and that’s close to 10 degrees below normal for this time of year,” he says “and all you have to do is add a little bit of a wind to that and we’ll be feeling wind chills closer to -25”
Fraser Valley is expected to feel even colder because of stronger gusts of wind.
MacDonald says the arctic air will stick around for a couple of days, with the temperature starting to warm up later in the week.
