A Black Lives Matter March took place in Kelowna Friday evening.
People marched with signs and candles in solidarity.
And knealt twice for 8 minutes and 46 seconds in silence in memory of George Floyd.
Co-organizer Kermisha Pereira said, "I just can't believe that a cop [knelt] on him for that long. We had to kneel for that long and my knees started hurting. Honestly, that time period is absolutely ridiculous for a cop to do that. The second time it was kind of a spur of the moment thing. It fit perfectly into what we were doing there, to show people in the surrounding area there that those eight minutes were long minutes, very, very long minutes that that man suffered."
More than 50 people participated.
