Police around the province are investigating a series of Bomb Threats, that appear to have been sent to businesses throughout North America.
According to Kelowna RCMP Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey, three local businesses were targeted.
"The businesses were located in the Kelowna area, and one of those being in Peachland." said O'Donaghey. "We have assessed these complaints and launched investigations in each case."
Earlier in the day, a trio of car dealerships in Penticton were evacuated while RCMP searched the premises.
Similar threats have been reported across Canada and the US, including in Toronto and New York. So far none of them have been found to be authentic by Police.
Emails received by the Penticton dealerships demanded money be trasferred via bitcoin, which is supposedly untraceable. The RCMP has confirmed the threats recieved in Kelowna also came with a request for payment.
