A 31-year-old West Kelowna man was arrested this past weekend after police found him hiding in the ceiling of a business that he allegedly broke into.
Shortly before 2:30 AM, West Kelowna RCMP responded to an alarm at a business on Louie Drive, and found the glass door of the adjacent business smashed.
After setting up a perimeter around the business, police performed a search inside, and saw that the walls separating the two businesses had also been damaged.
It was during that same search that they discovered the suspect hiding in the ceiling connecting the two businesses, and arrested him without incident.
“Police also allege that the suspect and individuals believed to be associated to him, made several attempts to lure our officers away from the scene,” says Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey. “As a result the suspect and those individuals, identified by officers at the scene, could face additional criminal charges.”
Anyone with more information is asked to call the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880.
