At approximately 12:30 pm the Kelowna Fire Department Dispatch Center received several 911 calls reporting smoke coming from the Mount Baldy area.
Crews located a fire on the West side of Mill Creek at the base of Mount Baldy. Access to the fire was gained at the end of McCurdy Place using our ATV unit.
A water supply was established by drafting water from Mill Creek to extinguish the fire. The fire was held to approximately 100 X 60 feet in size.
The fire is suspicious in nature. KFD responded with two engines, two bush units, a water tender, ATV, command vehicle and fourteen personnel.
