The hot temperatures in the forecast have the BC Wildfire Service bracing for a possible increase in wildfire activity.
Justine Hunse, at the Kamloops Fire Centre, says they're reminding everyone to report any smoke or fires they see on the weekend.
She says the fire danger rating in the region is currently "moderate" to "high" with pockets of "extreme" in the Lillooet Fire Zone.
"In the Kelowna area, there are a couple of pockets of "high" near Vernon - the rest of the Okanagan Valley is generally in "moderate" fire danger rating," she says.
Hunse urges everyone to be cautious with campfires and other activities that could cause fires - like heat or sparks from dirt bike and ATV exhaust systems that could start a grass fire.
She says small campfires, a half-metre wide by a half-metre high, are still permitted, but anyone leaving a campfire unattended - for any length of time - can be fined $1,150.
