The Central Okanagan Salvation Army Christmas Kettle campaign is still short of last year's total and below target for this year. Right now, the total is 340 thousand dollars. That means they need to raise another 60 thousand dollars in order to reach their 2018 target.
Salvation Army Captain Daryl Burry says tomorrow and Thursday are the last chance registration days for needy families to recieve some help this Christmas.
Burry says, "We know there are still families trying to make it work on their own. They are reluctant to ask for help because asking for help can be extremely difficult to do."
Burry adds, "We want to make this process as pain free as possible. We know it's a hard thing to ask for help. We can all recognize that." And, he issued an invitation, "We want to support you where you are right now and hopefully help you be in a better place in the future."
Captain Burry remains confident in the generosity of people around the Central Okanagan to make Christmas better for those families in need.
