A stray cigarette made for some tense moments at Kelowna General Hospital on Monday afternoon.
At about 10 to 5, firefighters were called in when the smell of smoke began to fill the first floor.
Crews were able to find the source - a small fire on an exterior wall at the front of the building.
It was fully extinguished quickly, with minor damage reported as a result of the flames.
The source of the fire was also quickly determined, and therefore isn't considered suspicious.
No staff or patients had any setbacks as a result.
