High water levels in Okanagan Lake are forcing the city to close the beach access at Manhattan Point.
Along with that location, the city has already been forced to close parks along the beach at Lake Avenue, the City Park waterpark, and Francis Avenue, along with the Maude Roxby Bird Sanctuary and trail from Cascia Linear Park to the lake.
Though Manhattan Point is closed, beach access will stay open just down on the street, on Manhattan Drive west of Guy Street.
Other beaches that have been closed include Sutherland Park, Tugboat Beach in Waterfront Park, and Strathcona Park, as well as beaches at the Kinsmen and Rotary Parks.
Crews are also reminding people not to climb on or move any of the sandbags or bladder dams that have been set up there.
The city is also recommending Boyce-Gyro Park as a place where people can still get to the beach.
