Improvements to the bike paths and parking access at Boyce-Gyro Park are in the works.
New plans would be to pave a parking lot at Lakeshore and Watt Road, and sell the adjacent piece of land to a developer, to build a residential complex.
Landscape Planner Lindsay Clement says there would need to be specific plans for a future development.
"There would likely be some requirements on what they could do there, because there's kind of a character that we want to see be developed in that space," she said.
"Maybe townhomes with some commercial components in it, and they'd have their own parking area."
She says it would also allow the city to close that current intersection, and better connect paths down to the park.
"The multi-use corridor is going to be continued along Lakeshore, and then it'll also tie into Gyro Park, and it'll go along Watt Road," she said.
"Improvements for our pedestrians and cyclists will be noticeable. It'll improve the flow there, because I think a lot of people have issues at that corner."
Watt would still connect to Lakeshore through a new access road, to be built with the new residence.
As well, the city wants to commission a piece of public art to be installed at that intersection.
A public info session will be hosted down in the Gyro parking lot today, between 4 and 6 pm.
