Kelowna City Hall will be closed for the holidays from Tuesday, Dec. 25 through Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019, reopening and returning to regular hours on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
Essential City services such as police, fire, water supply, wastewater treatment and snow removal will remain in operation.
“City Hall tends to be quiet over the holidays with few public requests and with many partner organizations we work with also closed during this time,” said Stu Leatherdale, Human Resources Divisional Director. “Due to the minimal business activity, reducing hours makes sense and is economical for the City. The time off helps our staff achieve a balanced quality of life by enjoying being with their families. Staff use their vacation days or hours from other earned leave banks for closure days beyond statutory holidays.”
For urgent water, sewer, parks, roads, snow removal and after-hours inquiries during the closure contact the Civic Operations call centre at 250-469-8600.
