In a post on its website, Club Penguin - which had its beginnings in Kelowna - is shutting down its desktop and mobile app versions.
The game was created in Kelowna in 2005, and purchased by Disney in 2007, for a reported $350-million.
The company says a new mobile version of the game called Club Penguin Island will launch in March.
There's no indication at this time whether the changes mean hirings or firings in Kelowna.
