Rest Area washrooms repaired after almost 2 months

The toilets are running again at the Loon Lake rest area on the Highway 97 Connector.

The BC Ministry of Transportation says a filtration system has been installed which has alleviated the issue of gravel and sediment making its way into the water lines.

The porta-potties will be kept as a backup, while the restroom facilities continue to be monitored.

The 4.2 million dollar rest stop was opened in February, 40 kilometres east of Merritt, and partially closed for repairs in May.
