An alert has been issued by the Consumer's Association of Canada regarding Newleaf Travel - a discount airline which uses planes based in Kelowna.
The group says there have been arbitrary cancellations and alterations to flight dates and times and consumers should have alternate travel plans in place if they're flying on NewLeaf.
NewLeaf says it has never been contacted by the Consumer Association and disputes some of the claims while acknowledging a decision to cancel flights to Arizona and Florida in January.
NewLeaf says that all customers received refunds in those cases and that it has successfully flown more than 150 thousand passengers across Canada.
The Consumer's Association says “There’s nothing wrong with cheap tickets, but it’s not much use to you if you can’t fly when you want to."
