The Kelowna RCMP is asking the public for help tracking down a cardboard cut-out.
The cut-out of a police officer holding a radar gun has gone missing from A.S. Matheson Elementary.
The "traffic calming device" was stationed on the roadside, in an effort to slow traffic through the school zone.
Police believe the cut-out went missing sometime after 3:30pm on January 17th.
"It is truly disappointing,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey of the Kelowna RCMP. “This initiative was created with the safety of our youth in mind. Whoever is responsible for the theft has put students at risk.”
O'Donaghey is now appealing to the thief to simply return the cut out to the school, or to the police.
Anyone who may have witnessed the theft is asked to call Kelowna RCMP or Crimestoppers.
