A sad ending to the Kelowna cougar story - BC Conservation was forced to put down the animal.
Conservation Officer Ed Seitz says the cougar had a number of health problems and had to be euthanized.
Seitz says the cougar had sores all over its body, a broken and abscessed tooth, and was generally too unhealthy to be succesfully released back into the wild.
Kelowna RCMP were called to the Westwynd Point apartments, at around 9:00 Sunday night, after tenants spotted the big cat in an alcove outside the building's main doors.
BC Conservation Officers captured the cougar, using a tranquilizer gun, and were hoping to release it back into the wild.
