Kelowna RCMP were called to an apartment after some of the building's tenants had a surprise visitor.
Just before 9 pm, the group found a large cougar sitting on top of brick alcove outside the main doors of the apartments on Cooper Road, just north of Benvoulin.
Police called in a couple of BC Conservation Officers, who were able to capture it using a tranquilizer gun.
BC Conservation took the adult female cougar away from the scene, and will release it back into the wild once it's recovered.
Police say they're appreciative that the tenants didn't try to take the situation into their own hands.
