A waterfront walkway from Royal Avenue to Strathcona Park is one step closer to reality.
On Monday, Kelowna City Council approved $69,000 from reserve funding to go towards hiring consultants, who will assess how to best protect that area of the shoreline from ongoing erosion.
After conducting detailed design and survey work in March, City staff will bring the matter back to council next year with an updated plan and budget for the erosion protection measures.
Once those measures are in place, work on the walkway is expected to begin shortly afterwards.
