RCMP members were kept busy Wednesday dealing with a number of car accidents due to the slippery conditions on area roads.
"There were as many as 12 collisions in the Kelowna detachment area. We had 6 collisions in the West Kelowna RCMP jurisdiction and as many as 10 collisions in Lake Country. These of course are just collisions reported to local police", Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey stated.
O'Donaghey says they also had to deal with a large number of abandon 911 calls.
"We would like to remind the public to remain on the line to speak with 911 emergency operators even if they have realized that someone else has called for emergency services when they arrive at any of these collisions or emergency situations".
O'Donaghey is reminding motorists to slow down and keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you.
