Property-owners, along Bellevue and Mill Creeks in Kelowna, are being advised crews will be out this spring repairing damaged creek channels, and removing debris from last spring's flooding.
City Project Manager Fred Shaad says the work will begin as soon as the city gets approval from the Ministry of Natural Resources.
He says because of limited access for equipment, in and around homes along the creeks, restoring water flows may take several months.
The projects are part of the estimated $10.7-million 2017 Flood Recovery plan, which is 80-percent funded by Emergency Management BC.
The potential for flooding exists this year, as it does every year, and property owners living near creeks, streams, low-lying areas and lakefront are responsible for having a plan and protecting their properties.
