BC wildfire crews are battling a forest fire near Westside Road.
The fire, which apparently began over the lunch-hour Tuesday, has since grown from initial reports it was less than a hectare in size.
Information Officer, Max Birkner, at the Kamloops Fire Centre, says "the fire is currently estimated at 2.5 hectares in size, and there are 2 helicopters, 4 fixed wing aircraft, 26 firefighters, one response officer, and two fire investigators responding to the fire. We don't have a cause - it's still under investigation, but we will be providing more updates as soon as they become available," he says.
Birkner says the fire is located north of Trader's Cove in the Blue Grouse Mountain area.
