35-year-old Jeremy Czechowski of West Kelowna has been found guilty on charges of sexual assault, unlawful confinement, and uttering threats.
The charges stem from an incident in February of 2016, where a woman entered Czechowski’s residence, and was violently raped several times over the course of two hours.
During this time, Czechowski also choked the woman and threatened to kill her.
After leaving the residence, the victim called the police, and was taken to KGH to receive medical treatment.
A medical report revealed that the victim had a goose egg on her head, bruising on her back and neck, and tears in her rectum, all of which Crown counsel considered to be consistent with non-consensual sex.
A six-day trial took place in February, with Judge Kenneth Ball passing down his verdict on Wednesday.
Czechowski will be back in court for a pre-sentence report on Monday, July 16th.
The identity of the victim is protected under a publication ban.
