More dead domesticated animals have been discovered is the back country near Kelowna.
Kane Blake, of the Okanagan Forest Task Force, says on a regular back-country check for illegal dump sites, he stumbled on two dead cows in the Postill Lake Road area.
He says the cattle, both from Coldstream Ranch, appeared to have bullet wounds, and one cow was very small - possibly a calf.
Blake says Coldstream Ranch has had a similar situation in the past and contacted RCMP, but he says nothing came of the investigation.
He says the owners of the ranch are aware of the cattle and will send someone in to investigate.
Back in March, the Okanagan Forest Task Force found a dead dog also dumped off Postill Lake Road.
Meantime - OFTF’s recent back country tour for illegal dumps is one of the last of the season before the snow falls. Blake says this year has been good as far as not finding much garbage in the forest.
“I think because of the fire ban and the ATV ban during the summer, people weren’t coming out in the forest to illegal dump,” he says.
This coming weekend the group will head to scout out the westside where there have been complaints of garbage in the Jack Pine and Brenda Mine area.
