The Kelowna Gospel Mission expects its resources to be stretched to the limit this fall.
Executive Director Carmen Rempel says offering food and shelter isn't easy with COVID-19 in the picture.
"We are very aware we are working with a very vulnerable population. A lot of our residents are seniors as well, so that makes them vulnerable as well to COVID. We are taking it extremely seriously. We are checking for symptoms, doing everything we can to keep people safe".
Rempel is hoping Metro will open its cold weather shelter earlier this fall to help with the number of people looking for a warm place to sleep.
