Kelowna`s snowfall record for December the 28th has been broken. The current record now sits at approximately 20 centimeters.
The last time Kelowna set this record was all the way back in 1923 (15.2 centimeters), while the most snow Kelowna ever got on one day was 47 centimeters on February 19th, 1937.
We have a recent low pressure front to thank for the large amount of snow.
``When you get that cold air undercut by warm, moist air, that`s an ideal recipe for snowfall,``says meteorologist Allan Coldwells, of Environment Canada.
As always, with this amount of snow and colder weather, drivers and pedestrians alike are asked to be cautious when travelling outdoors.
