The off-leash, fenced dog park next to Rowcliffe Avenue re-opens today, following a two-month closure related to ongoing improvements at Rowcliffe Park.
The off-leash dog park, which will have a fenced-in space for dogs of all sizes, re-joins the ranks of a dozen other off-leash parks and beaches in Kelowna. Those with dogs are reminded to please keep their dogs on a leash when they are outside of designated dog parks and to please pick up after their pets.
Rowcliffe Park, a large, central community park, is being constructed in multiple phases. The first completed phase includes an accessible playground, sidewalks, stairs and landscaping. The current, second phase – which has an estimated cost of $1.4 million – includes a community garden, open grass field, additional walkways and the off-leash dog park. Phase two is expected to be complete by the end of June 2019.
