A new program in Kelowna will open up free driving lessons for seniors who have low incomes.
It's being run through the Kelowna and District Safety Council, which says it's also giving help to teenagers from low-income families, along with new immigrants and refugees.
The program was started in part from a 10,000 dollar grant from the City of Kelowna, and is designed to make sure low incomes don't hinder anyone from gaining or maintaining their independence.
The KDSC says people can be admitted into the program if they get a referral from one of the other agencies in town.
That would include places like the Boys & Girls Club, the Women's Shelter, Interior Health, and Now Canada.
KDSC also offers kids programs, like Babysitter training and Home Alone training.
