Two alleged drug dealers are now facing drug trafficking charges and further arrests will be made after 3 residential search warrants were executed.
As a result of a recent project, members of the Kelowna RCMP Special Enforcement Team executed search warrants simultaneously on 3 separate properties as well as the search and seizure of a vehicle directly connected to the proceeds of crime.
On September 19th, 2019 the Kelowna Special Enforcement Team with the assistance of the Kelowna Target Team and Drug Unit, attended 2 rental units on Academy Way, and a third residence in the 1400 block of Glenmore Rd North where it was believed that illegal drug trafficking was taking place.
Two men ages 20 and 29 were arrested in relation to several offences including, Drug Trafficking, Possession of Stolen Property and Firearms related offences. Approximately 1.5 Kilograms of illegal substances including Cocaine, Fentanyl, heroine, oxycodone and Methamphetamine were seized along with a stolen 9 mm handgun and large sum of cash.
Officers also seized a 2012 Acura TL as proceeds of crime.
The investigation is ongoing and further arrests and formal charges are forthcoming.
“This significant seizure of illicit drugs and the arrests made are the result of the continuing effort made by the Kelowna RCMP to identify drug dealers and dismantle organized crime in our community, specifically dial-a-dopers and other drug trafficking groups”. States Sgt. Alex Lynch of the Kelowna Street Enforcement Unit.
