A 49-year-old Alberta man was arrested after a driver was found passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle in the left-lane of Highway 97 in West Kelowna.
RCMP Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey says just before 2:45 Monday morning, police were called to Highway 97 South and Hudson Road.
"A passing motorist stopped to check on the male driver of the black Ford Escort who was found passed out behind the wheel," says O'Donaghey. "The bystander immediately called police and began to direct traffic around the Ford which was now a serious traffic hazard."
O'Donaghey says emergency crews managed to wake the man, who was later found in possession of over 500 grams of suspected methamphetamine and over 300 grams of suspected cocaine.
The suspect is expected to appear in court on May 20th facing several charges.
