A drunk driver is facing charges after losing control of his car near UBCO last night.
Police say the 29-year-old Kelowna man was seen speeding in his Nissan Sedan just before 10:30 pm when he hit a median in the highway and spun 180 degrees.
The driver tried to flee but officers located him thanks to witnesses.
Police say he provided breath samples that were nearly double the legal limit.
“This incident clearly demonstrates the dangers of driving while impaired”, said Traffic Investigator Cst. Steve Holmes in a news release, “It was fortunate he only hit a median and not another vehicle or vehicles.” The RCMP would like to thank those who assisted in this situation.
