It looks like Greyhound is about to be replaced in BC.
Alberta-based Ebus have announced that they'll be operating in the southern part of the province, and they hope to start before November 1st.
They've announced the following routes:
John Stepozy, Director of Business development at Ebus, says the void that's soon to be left by Greyhound gave them the perfect opening to come here.
"We've looked at BC in the past, and we've had several requests from the community and passengers," says Stepozy. "So the timing just made sense."
While terminal locations haven't been decided yet, Stepozy says Ebus is not considering the Greyhound station in Kelowna.
"It's a pretty sizeable terminal," he says. "We don't need that much space, because it can just become inefficient."
Ebus, along with its sister brand Red Arrow are divisions of the Pacific Western Transportation Group - the largest privately-owned transportation company in Canada.
