The Central Okanagan Economic Development Commission crunched numbers from several different agencies and has released its Economic Indicators Report.
Highlights of the quarterly report include a 7% increase in the region's labour force - between January and September this year - with the average unemployment rate at 5.2%.
According to the latest Census data - the report says average household income in Kelowna was well above the provincial and national averages at $71,127 - a 41% increase. Between 2005 and 2015, the provincial increase was 33% - the national increase of 11%.
And the report also noted housing starts continued their upward trend with a 90% increase from 2016 - in particular, apartment unit starts rose 180%.
The Commission collected numbers from BC Stats, Statistics Canada, Canada Mortgage and Housing and local governments in the Central Okanagan.
The Q3 Economic Indicators Report includes cumulative statistics for 10 key economic indicators and is housed in the Resources page in the COEDC website
