There will be some work to do to get the local economy back on its feet post COVID 19.
In response to the pandemic, The Economic Recovery Task Force was launched today in Kelowna.
And includes Regional Mayors, Chief of Westbank First Nations and the Regional Board Chair.
One of the roles of the task force will be to advocate on behalf of local business to senior levels of Government. The task force will also keep businesses informed about provincial and federal programs.
The task force is co-chaired by Regional Board Chair Gail Given and Kelowna Mayor Colin Basran.
“It’s going to be a two pronged approach” explains Given. “One will support businesses right now and secondly that we emerge even stronger.”
The Central Okanagan Development Commission and senior staff from participating jurisdictions will support the task force.
