A 72-year-old woman is recovering in hospital after the car she was driving crashed into a utility pole Monday night.
Kelowna RCMP say the single vehicle collision happened just before 10:00pm on Casorso Road near Benvoulin Road.
When emergency crews arrived, they found the unconsious female driver inside a heavily damaged Toyota Camry that had collided with a pole on the passengers side. She was taken to hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Police believe black ice caused the woman, who was driving southbound on Casorso Road, to lose control of the Camry.
They also don't believe the woman was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, prompting a plea from officers to buckle up.
